Our Program

Children are wonderful miracles of life.  The beginning years of childhood are an important time as they discover the world around them.  For parents, it’s the one opportunity to guide, teach, and love them while they’re so small.

Bunny Hop Child Care strives to provide the very best care with this in mind.  You will find a welcoming, comfortable environment for your child to grow, learn, and play.

  • Our Home

We’re located in the Benton Woods neighborhood of North Albany, OR.

We provide care in our own home, making it a comfortable home away from home for your little one.

Our backyard is fully fenced and double gated.

We can’t wait to show you our favorite outdoor space - the playhouse!

Our neighborhood also boasts 3 nearby parks with play structures, a boardwalk through wetlands, green spaces, and many walking paths.

  • Qualifications

  • Schedule

    Monday - Friday

    7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Each family has their own pre-arranged drop-off and pick-up times and there is no minimum number of hours required for care. Your full-time rate secures your spot!

We work with the USDA food program to provide nutritious breakfast, lunch, and 2 snacks daily at no extra charge to you.

Our morning routine includes free play, circle time, and outdoor time when the weather permits. We regularly enjoy outdoor games, picnics, and adventure in the neighborhood parks, paths, and green spaces. Without good weather, we get creative with pre-planned learning, activities, and crafts.

After lunch, we have story time - no exceptions! Reading is an important part our daily routine. On finishing our story, we take a well-deserved nap to rest up a bit.

Throughout the day, we follow a consistent schedule of diapering and potty breaks, usually aligned with our meal-times.

  • Cirriculum

Each stage of your child’s development is important to us. We provide age-appropriate support in the following ways:

Nurturing through attentive care in feeding, diapering, soothing and rest

Encouraging communication - talking and responding - through words, sounds, expression, and a listening ear

Plenty of child’s play with a regular rotation of age-appropriate toys

Engaging social interactions through both provider-directed activities and child-led activities

Wholesome direction & guidance in accordance with our policies

Encouraging creative expression through music, arts & crafts, and imaginative play

Building your child’s skills: social skills, vocabulary, motor skills, cognitive understanding, emotional regulation, and self-esteem. This includes such things as sharing, taking turns, empathy, pincer grip, learning activities, and potty-training, to name a few

The BASICS: ABCs, shapes, colors, sounds, games, fresh air

Recognizing group needs and responding with care

  • When a Spot Opens Up

When a child-care spot opens up, we first go to our waiting list to find a good fit for our group based on current enrollments. We will send a text or email invitation to your family, letting you know the good news!

We will send you a copy of our contract, policies, and forms to review. Many of these are required by the state. Feel free to text or email any questions you have!

We will schedule an appointment for you to view our home, ask questions, and meet in person. We typically schedule a time when we don’t have children in care so we can apply our full attention to your appointment. A paper copy of the contract will be provided at that time for you to complete and return.

We ask that the completed contract and forms be returned before providing care. We’ll make a copy for your records as well.

Join our waiting list today! We love to welcome a new little hopper to Bunny Hop!

Before-and-after-school

It’s so cool to head for school!

Ages 5-9

We’re here for your child as they venture through the school year! We are able to support students attending Oak Grove Elementary school here in North Albany OR, but do not have transportation for other schools.

The school day begins with breakfast in the morning followed by free play or activities. When it’s time for school, we walk to the nearest bus stop, which is just a block away at the corner of NW Dover Ave. and Laura Vista Dr. NW. The kids hop the bus and off to school!

In the afternoon, we meet the bus for drop-off and walk back to the house for an afternoon snack. Our late afternoon activities before pick-up vary from free play, books, learning activities, games and more.

Our program includes full-day care on non-school/cancelled school days, including winter break and spring break. These days are pre-planned with games such as bingo and Candyland, crafts, outdoor adventures, and lots of extra fun to keep all our kids engaged. We often get creative with specially planned days such as our Italian Restaurant Day - a real hit with the kids!

Piper is a ginger tabby who turned 19 this year and is truly the best cat ever. It’s hard for him to get around these days, but he still begs for pets from our neighbors and kids. Cricket is a classic scaredy-cat - it’s possible you may never meet him! And Indi (short for Indiana Jones) was rescued from a nearby river park as a kitten and is full of spunk and mischief!

Our cats spend most of their time upstairs or outdoors.
